A Jefferson, Wisconsin bartender didn’t shout out “hold my beer” before he jumped into a river recently to save a drowning goat, but the good Samaritan was quick on his feet.
When a passerby notified Mike Soleska last Friday that a goat grazing on an island near his tavern had fallen into the Rock River and to call 911, the bartender went one step further. Soleska, who grew up around goats and was raised on goat’s milk, raced across the street to grab his canoe and jumped into the river to save the goat.
Since then the story of the hero who saved “Elsa” has gone viral.
