As KARE 11 News reports, “Rich Miller, a milk truck driver for Ellsworth Coop Creamery put in $5,000 of his own money to start a fund to buy cheese curds for food banks. Rich was concerned for farmers hurting from COVID-19.” While not every dairy farm can adjust how they process their milk so easily, it is beneficial when they can.
With a simple question, “How can I help the farmer?,” Rich Miller changed the direction of the doomed milk. Miller said, “They’ve supported me for 32 years; I think I can give a little bit back.”
