Reality or rhetoric? ‘Feeding Tomorrow’ food and agriculture film to debut
A new documentary film, Feeding Tomorrow is slated for release on Jan. 23, 2024. The movie, directed by the sons of chef and millionaire restauranteur Todd English, claims to be a visionary take on the transformative power of food and agriculture.
But for farmers who’ve weathered the storms of a broken system, it might offer another serving of idealistic rhetoric. The film strings together the stories of Thabiti Brown, Lisa Mcdowell, and Mark Shepard, presenting them as saviors of our beleaguered food system.
Behind the glossy narrative, the film’s trailer doesn’t shy away from painting a bleak picture of the challenges in agriculture while promising to dive into the struggles faced by the food system today. But will it offer viable solutions or ones that don’t translate to the real challenges on the ground? We shall see. And you can check out the movie trailer to get a sense for yourself.
