GB Packers Jordy Nelson: Strong work ethic starts on the farm
We were sad to see Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson get taken out of Sunday’s wild-card game against the New York Giants after a rib injury in the second quarter. While Packers coach Mike McCarthy did not say whether Nelson broke any ribs, there is concern the injury might keep Nelson out of next Sunday’s playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.
We’re hoping the farm boy has a few more games in him before the season comes to a close. Nelson is in the second year of a four-year, $39 million contract and has already made $37 million in his career — when the playoffs are over, he will return to his family’s wheat and 1,000-cow Angus operation near Leonardville, Kansas where he goes every off season. Here’s one of our favorite clips of Nelson from the family farm.
