More milk? Mackie’s dairy tries country music

· October 3, 2016

‘Play it until the cows come home’ might now be replaced with the phrase ‘play it until she lets her milk down.’ Ice cream makers, Mackie’s of Scotland have set up an experiment to see if their cows produce more milk when they listen to country music.

The dairy farmers have played music by Aberdeen, Scotland country singer, Colin Clyne, for two weeks to see whether the herd produce more milk. The Scottish family dairy, famed for its luxury ice cream, is hoping its herd of cows will respond favorably to the sound of music from the American south.
