Overview
School Website >>From the founding days of this university, agriculture has been at the core of our academic enterprise. We know that the next generation of thinkers produced by our college will be prepared to tackle the grand global challenges in agriculture including food security, resource stewardship, and water availability. Just a few examples of the breakthroughs produced by our researchers include: links between food and cancer prevention; enhancements to food safety; a greater understanding of animal welfare; improvements in crop yields; new approaches to organic agriculture; and new economic modelling for farmers and ranchers.
When prospective students visit our college, they will find faculty and staff that have an uncompromised commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. Our students learn from some of the most well-known and famous researchers in their fields and have access to state-of-the-art facilities. Beyond the fundamental knowledge gained in classrooms and laboratories, our students also take part in hands-on experiences that prepare them to be thoughtful researchers, well-rounded individuals, and engaged citizens of this community and the professional world beyond campus.
