It’s far from the type of request you’d expect to see in agritourism, but the owners of a sunflower farm in England are begging visits to stop stripping for nude photos in their fields.
Stoke Fruit Farm in Hampshire, England, issued the unusual request on posted signs at their business and on social media asking visitors to keep their clothes on when posing among the blooms.
The farm, owned by sisters Sam Wilson and Nette Petley, is a multi-generation 350-acre farm that produces wheat, peas, potatoes, pumpkins, squash, sweetcorn, hay — and sunflowers.
It’s a family-friendly stop that just opened their sunflower fields last month to visitors. The sisters report that it’s only taken a month for them to witness six incidences of nudity in their fields, three in just one single day.
New sources reported Petley saying, “The site is huge, and there are so many places that you can hide away without anyone finding you for over an hour, but these incidents were blatantly public.”
The farm had recently hosted a charity photoshoot, picturing a woman posting “tastefully nude” to raise funds for cancer. But it’s gotten out of hand.
“I think it’s a shame the fun of taking a few risky photos is being challenged by this blatant nudity in our family field,” shop director Sam Wilson told The Sun.
In the shop, an abandoned black bra was advertised as just some of the lost property that’s been available for collection by shop staff.
One Facebook commenter wrote, “Yes, we stumbled on a ‘session’ — I’m not a prude, but I don’t expect to see almost naked bodies while searching for the best blooms.”
Others saw the humor in the situation, heckling the business saying, “Pictures or it didn’t happen.” and “Go topless.”
