A new video series, titled Like a Farmer, debuts today with the goal of helping to celebrate American farmers and to educate the people about the importance of the heartland of our nation. The series is hosted by Pat Spinosa from AgAmerica Lending and is available on a variety of streaming platforms, including YouTube.
“We’re missing targeted programming for the backbone of the American economy: farmers!,” said Spinosa, who grew up on a cattle and citrus farm. “There isn’t anything out there focused on showcasing all the different people who not only have a passion for agriculture and land ownership but take an active role in it.”
The series will interview a broad cross-section of people, from household names in country music, pop culture, or sports to local celebrities, while they celebrate the culture and lifestyle of rural America.
The debut guest is Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who has roots in agriculture. In the premiere episode, Allen equates training for the Bills opening season with his hard-earned grit growing up on his family farm.
“The stuff I’m doing [in the NFL] is hard — working out, keeping your body in shape — but it’s not harder than moving an irrigation pipe in 115 degrees,” he said.
Allen goes on to talk about where to get the best wings in Buffalo, a surprising hidden talent, and a new crop he’s growing that he calls a “superfood.”
Spinosa was tapped for this project in part because he has championed initiatives within AgAmerica such as AgAmerica Giving, focused on educating the next generation of farmers, and the AgAmbassador Program, which partners with influencers from different industries to build a network of support for farmers.
New Like a Farmer episodes will be released monthly.
