Purina Animal Nutrition and the Land O’Lakes Foundation are announcing a new scholarship program designed to assist agriculture and livestock production students in pursuing their passions and furthering their educations.
Current undergraduate students with experience raising and caring for small or large livestock, equine, or poultry can apply for one of the four $5,000 scholarships.
Along with animal agriculture’s impact on their lives, desired applicants will be able to demonstrate academic excellence, leadership skills, and community involvement and have a clear vision for their future.
Scholarship applications will be accepted Aug. 28 through Oct. 12. Awardees will receive their scholarship funds for the Spring 2024 semester at their current educational institution.
The scholarship is open to all undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.
Applicants to the Purina Feed Greatness Scholarship must:
- Plan to be college undergraduates during the 2023-2024 academic year, including first-year students must be residing and studying in the United States.
- Be enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic semester.
- Have experience showing or caring for large or small livestock animals, equine, or poultry.
Scholarship finalists and recipients will be selected based on their academic record, demonstration of leadership, work experience, goals, experience showing livestock, and an essay.
This year’s essay topic is “Describe the impact nourishing and raising animals (excluding house pets) has had on your life.”
The deadline to apply is Oct. 17, 2023, by 3:00 p.m. Central Time. One online recommendation form must also be submitted on your behalf no later than Oct. 20.
