Discover the Easylock 33: The ultimate cattle-working chute for beginners

Published:

Finding the right equipment for your operation can be difficult, especially if you’re growing your cattle handling operation. There are many options on the market, and having the perfect cattle working chute that prioritizes safety and ease of use is critical. This is where the recently released Easylock 33 Series from Arrowquip comes in.

Their team of Livestock Experts and engineers has taken the time to create a cattle working chute that prioritizes efficiency, safety, ease of use, and affordability. This makes it the ideal choice for those new to cattle handling or with small herds.

Enhanced cattle control

The Easylock 33 Series cattle working chute is unlike anything Arrowquip has released. This equipment is designed specifically for those emerging into the cattle industry and may not need a big, fully loaded cattle chute.

While all of Arrowquip’s other manual cattle chutes are made using a fully parallel squeeze, the Easylock functions using a V-style squeeze that narrows at the bottom to form a clear “V” shape when in use. Similar to the Arrowlock parallel squeeze, but unlike many other V-style squeeze chutes, both sides of the squeeze frame move to restrain the animal. This helps keep handling cattle as low-stress as possible as cattle will feel off-balanced when squeezed from one side, which makes them uncomfortable and more difficult to handle.

Like the Arrowlock cattle chute lineup from Arrowquip, the Easylock 33 Series chute is also designed with a ratchet locking head gate; however, a new feature to the Easylock is a ratchet locking squeeze mechanism as well. The ratchet locking mechanisms give you a stronger, more secure hold on your cattle, so you don’t have to worry about them slipping out, no matter their size, breed, and temperament. Additionally, the ratchet mechanism requires less maintenance, and though it’s rare, freeing your cattle from the hip lock is easier than ever. This convenient design allows you to work cattle seamlessly, freeing up more time for other essential tasks in your day.

Complete cattle access

When designing this budget-friendly cattle working chute, the Arrowquip engineers wanted to maintain safety, which includes giving you complete access to the animal when it’s in the chute.

The Easylock 33 features four side access panels that swing open for quick access to the animal’s side. This feature is helpful if you’re branding or administering vaccines or medications.

Plus, if you need more room or find the panels are getting in the way, these side access panels are completely removable.

When compared to drop-down access panels, swing-out panels seem to have more benefits. This is because when using drop-down panels, they can block the bottom access panel from opening. So. If a situation comes up where you need to use both the top and bottom access, you could run into difficulties, adding time and effort to your cattle handling experience.

The bottom access panel is a key access point on any cattle chute, and there are many reasons for it. One of the most common uses for the bottom access is to help calves that need to nurse. The bottom access panel is strategically designed so you can help the calf latch onto the mother with ease. The bottom access is also helpful if you need to work around the animal’s leg for hoof trimming, semen testing, or if they have an injury that needs to be looked at. With the Easylock 33 Series, the bottom access panel can fold down and is also easily removable, so you can have access in seconds to perform the task at hand.

While you’re working cattle through a squeeze chute, things may not always go according to plan. That’s why it’s important to ensure that your chute has all the safety features to help handle any situation — like the Easylock with its full off-side emergency exit. This is especially helpful if an animal falls in the chute and can’t get back up or you need an alternate way to get them out of the chute that’s not the head gate. The emergency exit on the Easylock 33 can be operated from either side of the chute using a rope that is attached to the handle. The ability to open the emergency exit from the opposite side increases safety and minimizes the risk of injury.

The Easylock 33 Series cattle working chute is an affordable, no-nonsense solution for beginners in cattle handling or those looking to add a second cattle chute to their operation. With a user-friendly design that prioritizes safety and efficiency, this cattle chute will significantly impact the overall cattle handling experience.
