These little piggies went wee, wee, wee … After a semi-truck carrying 1,900 piglets turned over on an Ohio highway.
State Highway Patrol troopers were called to assist at about 7:50 p.m. on Friday night. When law enforcement arrived on the scene, many of the piglets had escaped in the crash, while some, unfortunately, died.
Despite the chaos that has to be thousands of loose piglets, most of them were found and rounded up by bystanders on the scene and transferred to another trailer.
Vandalia Police Division, Butler Township Fire Department, Reid Health EMS, Sandy’s Towing and Recovering, and Ohio Department of Transportation also assisted with this crash.
In body camera footage, one trooper tells a piglet, “Get back there, little buddy.”
In a post on social media, the Vandalia Police Department officers Clymer and Matlock can be seen (and poked fun at) with some of the rescued piglets.
