Gordon Ramsay schools a vegan activist and supports farmers

Published:

Social media can be good and bad for a lot of things, and since the beginning of 2020, entertainment value is certainly high on that list — especially when you look at the back-and-forth between celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey and the vegan animal rights extremist who calls herself That Vegan Teacher. Knowing the fiery emotion that Ramsay has brought to his cooking shows over the past two decades, it would make sense that a sharp-witted tweet like this would go viral:

ramsay-fake-tweet

Except that it didn’t. The tweet is a funny fake, but the tension between Ramsay and That Vegan Teacher (whose real name is Kadie Karen Diekmeyer) is oh so real.

For those who may have giggled at this “tweet,” there are a couple of clues that point to it being fake: The biggest is that the Twitter handles are apparently @user. Also, the “tweet” has 100,000 likes but no comments — and it was posted on April 2 at 2:41 a.m., which isn’t April Fools Day, as if he even knew that he’d even be able to reply (so quickly!) with such a comeback.

Regardless, it’s good for a laugh!

What’s even more funny is how this fake tweet ties into the pair’s feuding history so well. Let’s dive in:

Ramsay is a world famous celebrity chef and has a long history of loving and promoting meat, among many other types of foods. He is also known for his temper and his roasts, calling people “muppet,” “idiot sandwich,” or “donut” — he definitely doesn’t shy away from his opinions, regardless of how harsh or direct they may be. He has millions of social media followers, In March 2021, just to highlight his brashness over veganism, he drew wide media attention (and ultimately vegan spite) with an Instagram video where he said, “I have a confession. After three decades of cooking, hundreds and hundreds of thousands of hours behind the stove, I’m turning vegan.” The punchline, though, was at the end, where after showcasing a single vegan recipe throughout the video, he concluded his declaration with the words “… for lunch.”

It. Was. Masterful.

On the other side of this equation is That Vegan Teacher, a former grade-school teacher turned online vegan animal rights extremist — she has a history of harassing influencers and celebrities online, forcing her beliefs on everyone else. She was reported to have had as many as 1.6 million TikTok followers until she was banned by the platform. She’s been quite abrasive, taking on the worst traits of traditional vegan activist extremism. (This is a big reason why vegan animal rights activists often times come with such a negative stigma.)

So, when That Vegan Teacher wrote a song about Ramsay, you have to wonder how shocked she was to hear his response. Watch this, it’s absolutely hilarious:

What a roast! And with 59.3 million views on TikTok alone, it also appears to be his second most watched video on the popular social media platform. That Vegan Teacher goes on to respond to him with one more song she wrote — and this was the one that apparently got her banned from TikTok. Below a screenshot of the song, which can no longer be found on the platform.

Ah yes, just more reasons why vegan activists are so absurd … comparing livestock farming to the Holocaust? Unbelievably insulting, and it’s egregiously disrespectful to those who actually endured the Holocaust. Animals have been eaten for thousands of years, but comparing that to a horrific event like this from history is not the way to go.

Many livestock farmers feel that their careers are very misunderstood and too many people don’t know where their food comes from and don’t understand all the work that goes into it. That’s why whenever farmers and ranchers have a celebrity in their corner, they want to rejoice and celebrate! Celebs are so influential and powerful that when they give rural communities a voice, it’s a pretty big deal.

Check out this video response put together by many farmers where they just wanted to say thanks to Chef Ramsey for standing up for us and the rest of the meat industry. Animal rights activists like That Vegan Teacher do so much harm to the public, while spreading vast amounts of misinformation on what farmers and ranchers actually do. This next video is sure to warm your heart or maybe bring a tear to your eye! Farmer @tr_jones7 put it together, to where Ramsay posted to his account and started the hashtag #everychefneedsafarmer:

In addition to standing up to vegan activists while hearing and supporting farmers and ranchers, he posted the video with this beautiful caption,

“Always standing behind farmers, grateful for the work they do and passion they have on a daily basis.” #everychefneedsafarmer

Thank you, Chef Ramsay. We certainly appreciate your support.
