Today’s #FoodLabelFriday post looks a little different, because it’s not actually a label on a package of food. Instead, it’s a label that has been given to us as an entire industry by a celebrity in a recent video. ? In case you haven’t seen it, Ellen DeGeneres encouraged her viewers to “be neat, eat less meat” in one of her videos last week. She mentions that it would be better for “your health, the environment, and the animal’s health.” *cue the eye roll* ? When people make claims like this, they are labeling agriculture as a whole as untrustworthy, irresponsible, and dishonest. By questioning the welfare of animals and impact on the environment, they are saying that farmers don’t care for their animals or the land they live on. These labels are the exact opposite of what agriculture is and what it stands for. ? Call me dramatic, but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I’ve had ENOUGH of people thinking they know the whole story of food production when they’ve barely set foot on a farm. I’ve had ENOUGH of hateful words on social media from anti-ag people and groups. Finally, I’ve had ENOUGH of celebrities putting out silly little videos (with no factual information in them) and people taking it as gospel. ? Farmers love their families, their animals, and the land. They do all they can to care for all three. I won’t ever stop sharing that TRUTH! #TheFarmStory #Yes2Meat

Today we are bulk picking pumpkins!!!! Whew- let me just say that it definitely doesn't feel like the first day of fall out here!!☀️☀️ A huge thank you goes to all of the helping hands to get these pumpkins out of the field (no photo of the morning crew- boo!) Anyway…..we are absolutely in love with the pumpkins we grew this year!!!
