What to expect for the 2023 National FFA Convention

Published:

It’s that time — time to pack, travel, and make sure that you’re set to make the most out of your trip to Indianapolis for the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo. This week, from November 1 through 4, a blue sea of corduroy jackets will take over Indianapolis. FFA members from across the country will gather in one spot to celebrate their accomplishments, and their chapters, and learn how to be better leaders in their communities.

After a few years of virtual and semi-virtual experiences, the 95th National FFA Convention & Expo will be held entirely in person. With that, it’s nice to know that you’re prepared to make the most of your experience.

National FFA Convention

To successful enjoy the 96th National FFA Convention & Expo be sure to know:

  1. How much money should I bring? There are over 300 exhibitors representing agriculture, U.S. Armed Services, auto and truck manufacturers and more — there’s truly something for everybody. The Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, and Gainbridge Fieldhouse are now cashless venues. So what does this mean for you? You will need another form of payment such as credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. There are cash ATMs available throughout the venue, but also Cash to Card (Reverse) ATMs are available on site.
  2. How can I keep track of everything going on? — Although there’s a printable schedule available, one of the best ways to keep track of what’s going on during the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo is with the FFA Guidebook App (available both in Apple’s App Store and on Google Play). The app has a searchable event schedule, event news, award results, and more available at the touch of your fingers with a simple download.
  3. Will I have to wear a mask at National FFA Convention? — Masks are not required this year. However, it’s recommended that you keep up to date on guidelines form the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for travel and make sure that you do not come to the National FFA Convention if you develop symptoms of COVID-19 less than 10 days before or any time while attending the event.
  4. Will the Blue Room be in person? — It looks like the virtual Blue Room may be here to stay. The virtual FFA Blue Room launched a couple of years ago at the height of the pandemic and was a huge success. Through the FFA Blue Room, members are able to see technology and innovation within the agriculture industry as well as learn about exciting careers.
  5. Have fun! — Last, but certainly not least, there is so much fun to be had at the 96th National FFA Convention & Expo! Everything from the American FFA Degree awards, Opening Session, National Chapter Awards, meeting new people, the rodeo, and an exclusive concert, FFA members are sure to make many memories during this time. If you’re sharing on social, make sure to use #FFA23 and of course, #AGDAILY!
