FFA summers: Members stay involved all summer long

Published:

Following FFA contests, finals, and general end-of-year craziness, everyone is finally on summer break. Just because the classroom is closed, though, doesn’t mean that FFA members around the country aren’t taking advantage of opportunities to explore new activities and make the most of their time outside of school.

FFA camps kick off across the country

Members around the country headed to FFA camps to learn and grow as leaders, servants, and as part of the FFA team and family.

Between all sorts of sports, competitions, and activities, these camps are a way for members to kick off their summer and prove that FFA is all about continuing to build on learning and relationships — even in the summer heat.

Showing off what FFA is all about

If you think FFA is about livestock, then you’re right … well, partially. Officers teams at Deer Park FFA in Deer Park, Texas, are hosting a TikTok challenge — all in the name of FFA. Officer teams have posted videos showing off some of what their ag classrooms offer. The team that receives the most likes on TikTok will win the challenge!

Doing to learn, earning to live

Summer break is one of the best times for FFA members to work on gaining real-world experience. Whether it’s a summer job, internship, or completing a different type of SAE, it’s worth noting that SAE projects come in all shapes and sizes.

Living to serve

Any member of FFA knows that integrating service opportunities into vacation isn’t just a great way to boost your experience and community presence but an excellent way to feed the heart and soul.

You’ll find FFA members around the country taking time to volunteer and help out at community events, fairs, food pantries, and more during the summer months.

Summer nights under barn lights

Summer is when livestock projects really start to heat up, so we thought it was only fair that this FFA activity received its own attention. With fairs on the horizon and summer heat in full swing, animal care is central to FFA members raising livestock projects. And, these projects are even better when a little fun is involved!
