Culver’s challenges FFA members to address ‘I can. We will.’

Published:

It wouldn’t be National FFA Week without longtime supporter Culver’s. The restaurant chain has kicked off its annual FFA Essay Contest asking members nationwide to respond to: “The 2017 National FFA Convention & Expo theme was ‘I can. We will.’ What does this mean to you, and how will you apply it in your future ag career?”

For the fourth year in a row, Culver’s is hosting the essay contest to award three FFA chapters with funds to use toward agricultural education initiatives, like attending the National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, October 24–27, 2018. The top three essay writers will receive:

First place: $7,500
Second place: $5,000
Third place: $2,500

If a chapter doesn’t need the funds to attend an ag education event, they can still use the money for an education project or initiative. The top 10 essay finalists will receive a certificate of recognition.

To enter, students must submit an essay of 1,000 words or less by April 6, 2018, at 5 p.m. CST. Students must be active FFA members in the 2018–2019 school year to be eligible to enter this contest.

The FFA Essay Contest is part of Culver’s Thank You Farmers Project, which ensures we will have enough wholesome food to feed our growing population by supporting agricultural education programs that encourage smart farming.
