DEKALB grows with ‘Field of Dreams’ in new official partnership

Published:

Bayer’s national flagship brand, DEKALB, proudly announces its new partnership as the Official Corn Seed of the Field of Dreams movie site.

The iconic site, surrounded by DEKALB DKC64-64RIB brand blend, served as the backdrop for the beloved 1989 baseball film Field of Dreams, and continues to inspire countless fans worldwide. Rahe Farms of Dyersville, which has farmed the Field of Dreams Movie Site for over two decades, takes immense pride in growing DEKALB corn at one of the most famous fields in the world.

“The DEKALB brand is honored to partner with the Field of Dreams Movie Site,” said DEKALB Brand Manager Jamie Horton. “Baseball in small-town Iowa, surrounded by our legendary winged ear of corn, represents the essence of Americana. We’re thrilled to be the chosen corn brand for the Field of Dreams movie site, allowing our legacy of performance to continue helping farmers achieve their goals.”

Andy Rahe of Rahe Farms expressed similar pride, stating, “It’s been a privilege for our family to farm the Field of Dreams movie site and grow DEKALB corn there. It’s a unique experience, and it’s fitting that the world’s best corn brand is the Official Corn Seed of the Field of Dreams movie site.”

This partnership goes beyond simply supplying corn. DEKALB’s role as the Official Corn Seed includes exclusive rights to grow DEKALB corn on the site, along with naming rights, signage, and more. This marks the third collaboration between the DEKALB brand and the Field of Dreams movie site, following the two professional baseball games played there in 2021 and 2022.

The Field of Dreams movie, based on W.P. Kinsella’s novel Shoeless Joe, has become a cultural touchstone, celebrated for its themes of nostalgia, redemption, and the enduring American spirit. The partnership with DEKALB not only honors this legacy but also ensures that the legendary cornfields will continue to thrive, providing a symbolic link between America’s pastime and its agricultural heartland.
