Agriculture education is an important pillar in the growth of the agriculture industry. Without the support from agriculture companies, students pursuing their passion are left with a hefty price tag. To help with the financial aspect of pursuing their passion for agriculture, the GROWMARK Foundation is once again offering their scholarship program for students in the United States and Ontario, Canada. A $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to fifteen individuals who are pursuing two- or four-year degrees or trade school certification in an agriculture-related field.
“As our business has grown and evolved, we saw a need to provide a scholarship to students throughout the United States and Ontario, in addition to the scholarship programs already established in our core geography,” said Amy Bradford, GROWMARK corporate communications manager and GROWMARK Foundation manager. “GROWMARK and the FS member cooperatives are strong supporters of youth leadership education and this is one more way we can contribute to the future of agriculture.”

Applicants must complete an online application which includes academic information, community service and leadership activities, and essay questions regarding agriculture and cooperatives. Selections will be made by an independent team of agribusiness professionals selected by GROWMARK, and their decision will be final. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the student’s account at their respective school.
The scholarship requires students to think about the future agriculture and their own personal achievements with three essay questions. The questions include:
- What, in your opinion, is the biggest challenge facing agriculture today? What role can you play in addressing that challenge?
- The GROWMARK System is a cooperative business. How do you see cooperatives influencing the agricultural industry in the future?
- What are your top three accomplishments or achievements thus far in your lifetime? Select one and explain why you chose it.
High school seniors or students at any level of higher education may complete the application, which can be found here. When filling on out the online application, students need to include a submission of a current photograph and your most recent semester’s transcript.
Applications are due by midnight Central Time on April 14, 2022, and recipients will be notified by July 1, 2022.
