The WIU School of Agriculture offers students hands-on experience with traditional, new and organic crops, as well as with livestock, at on-campus agriculture laboratories and agriculture test stations, and research at off-campus sites, including the nearby Allison Organic Research Farm. Students have numerous internship opportunities, and a chance to conduct research in new greenhouse facilities, and participate in 16 agriculture-related student organizations.

Allison Organic Demonstration and Research Farm
The Allison Organic Demonstration and Research Farm is an 80-acre, pesticide-free facility about 20 miles north of Macomb, which provides research and employment opportunities to WIU students. Each fall, an organic farm field day is held at the site for farmers from across the region. Numerous products are harvested from the site, including purple and gold "Rocky" popcorn, which is sold on campus.
