Applying for scholarships is crucial for students interested in continuing their passion for agriculture into college. In order to help those students, the Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement will be awarding a total of $100,000 in scholarships to students who are planning to attend or are currently enrolled as full-time students at a college, university, or technical school, pursuing a career in agriculture. The application is now available online, and the deadline for all applications and supporting materials is January 10, 2020.
“The future of agriculture depends on today’s students,” says Walt Hopkins, Chairman of the Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement. “With more than 100 applications received last year, I am confident that our industry will continue to advance as the next generation studies the various fields in agriculture. Our scholarship program will help ten students prepare to succeed in the industry, whether it’s as a farmer or business professional.”
The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement’s scholarship program will award ten scholarships in 2020, each valued at $10,000. This program is open to high school seniors and students currently enrolled in a two or four year educational program. All applicants must be planning to pursue a career in agriculture. This includes students wanting to go into production agriculture, as well as those planning to be educators, veterinarians, engineers, economists, or another profession within the industry. Applicants must reside in MidAtlantic Farm Credit’s five-state territory.
Applications are being accepted online now through January 10, 2020. For more information, please visit their website or email info@FCFoundationforAg.org.
