Farming has many risks involved no matter how many safety precautions are taken. Most workers have a respect and in-depth knowledge for every piece of machinery operated on the farm. Farm safety is a growing concern, and for good reason. Every precautionary step must be taken in order to ensure safety for all employees on the farm. However, even when all the right steps are taken, tragic accidents can still occur.
On a ranch in Montana, a tragic accident occurred late last week. According to the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call around 7:30 a.m. Thursday reporting that a woman was trapped between a hay bale and a truck on a ranch in Bozeman.
Kelsey Driscoll, 30, was reportedly working alone at the site loading bales of hay when some of the bales fell on her, pinning her between the bales and the bed of her truck.
After not being able to contact her via phone, some of Driscoll’s co-workers started to search for her in the area where she was last known to be working. They found her deceased at the site.
Driscoll was originally from Spokane, Washington, and had been living in Bozeman for the past year, according to sheriff’s office representative.
