FFA chapters constantly seek new, innovative ways to increase their students’ hands-on opportunities. Grants for Growing is a competitive grant program that provides funding to FFA Chapters — middle school and high school — to support the development or improvement of agricultural projects that enhance the classroom experiences for students through chapter engagement activities. FFA chapters may apply for up to $5,000 through the G4G program, sponsored by Tractor Supply Company.
Applications can be found here. The application process is easy and includes the following: a short project overview, potential community partners, a narrative on how the grant will help further the chapter’s agriculture education program, project timeline, and measurable outcomes. Funding is provided through consumer donations made during checkout at a TSC store location by purchasing a $1 through the paper emblem program.
Grants for Growing provides funding to support one of three areas:
- Grow Your Classroom — Funding can be used to support increasing students’ classroom knowledge.
- Grow Your FFA Chapter — Funding can be used to support developing or expanding an FFA chapter and leadership opportunities.
- Grow Your Ag Awareness — Funding can be used to support developing or expanding an agricultural literacy event or campaign.
Grant applications open today and will run through May 15, 2025. Awardees will be notified on Aug. 1, 2024.
The 2023 Grants for Growing fundraiser generated more than $1 million, funding 222 grants during the 2023-24 school year. The fundraising period for the TSC paper emblem program took place Feb 14-25, 2024, during National FFA Week. In addition to Grants for Growing, Tractor Supply committed $5 million over five years to the FFA Future Leaders Scholarship, making it the largest agriculture scholarship fund of its kind.
