Culver’s FFA Essay Contest could earn your chapter $7,500

Published:

Since its founding in 1984, Culver’s has passionately advocated for the importance of agriculture in providing ingredients for great food and in creating a better world. Each year, the national restaurant chain celebrates its relationship with the organization of future agriculture leaders with its annual FFA Essay Contest.

Culver’s longstanding relationship with FFA is part of its Thank You Farmers Project, an initiative that aims to celebrate and advocate for the role of farming in creating a more resilient and sustainable world.

This year’s contest will award a total of $15,000 to three FFA chapters to help fund educational programs and learning opportunities to support the future of agriculture. But, the deadline is rapidly approaching on May 1, 2023.

“We want to reward FFA members and chapters for how hard they work to create a positive impact on the world,” says Culvers.

Three winners will be selected, earning prizes of $7,500, $5,000, and $2,500 for their FFA chapters to pursue additional educational projects and initiatives. Culver’s has awarded over $100,000 in prizes to contest finalists since 2015.

In addition to the option of writing an essay, participants will again have the opportunity to enter a video submission for the contest.

This year’s prompt addresses the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance’s Decade of Ag Movement, bringing together people and organizations from the food and agriculture industries to work towards a climate-smart, sustainable future:

As a member of FFA and a future agricultural leader, what excites you about a movement like the Decade of Ag?

Written essays (1,000 words or less) and videos (five minutes or less) will be accepted online until the deadline. Students must be active members of their FFA chapter for the 2023-24 academic year in order to be eligible.
